the pot.

In collaboration with two other Stanford Product Design students, I embarked on an innovative project aimed at enhancing the quality of romantic couple interactions amidst busy schedules. Drawing from our observations of couples grappling with time constraints and the need for meaningful connection, we identified two key insights:

  1. Balancing time between quality couple time and social engagements with friends poses a challenge for many couples.

  2. The small, everyday interactions and inside jokes shared between couples play a significant role in fostering intimacy and connection.

With these insights in mind, our objective was clear: to develop a product that bridges the gap between socializing with friends and nurturing the unique bond between couples. We envisioned a board game that not only facilitated quality time together but also encouraged the development of a "secret language" through shared experiences and inside jokes.

The result of our endeavor was an innovative, user-generated board game concept. Every aspect of the game, from the board layout to the action cards, is customizable based on user input, ensuring a fresh and personalized experience with each playthrough. This dynamic approach ensures that couples can tailor the game to their preferences and unique relationship dynamics, fostering a sense of ownership and intimacy.

Our instructional materials, including written instructions and an instructional video, guide players through the game's setup and mechanics, while card prototypes serve as tangible examples of the game's user-generated content.

By empowering couples to create their own shared experiences and cultivate their "secret language," our board game offers a fun and meaningful way to strengthen bonds and create lasting memories together.
